The Lights ON for Learning Community Learning Centers network is a partnership between the Rock Island County Regional Office of Education (RIROE), the Rock Island County school districts, and community partners offering learning opportunities beyond regular school hours in designated school facilities. A Lights ON Advisory Council consisting of representatives from the participating schools and community partners facilitated by the RIROE Project Director meets regularly to discuss the sharing of resources and on-going support of programs. Each Lights ON school also has an identified Site Coordinators who serves as the liaison between the school and community. The Lights ON Site Coordinators also meet regularly as a group. The Lights ON program is funded by Federal 21st Century Community Learning Centers grants and Title I funds. The program submits Annual Performance Reports to the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) and contracts with Augustana College to conduct on-going evaluation.
