Literacy Program Support

The Bi-State Literacy Council offers special services including assistance in fundraising, public relations, literary services (students, student awrds, tutor awards, community/business awards.) Assists on all reading levels.

The Literacy Connection (TLC)

Serves at-risk students in grades 1-4 at Washington Elementary School in Moline, Illinois.

Lights ON (Lights ON for Learning Community Learning Centers)

Lights ON programs can be located in elementary, junior highs and high school facilities. There have been eighteen Lights ON schools, seventeen are currently active. Four school districts are currently involved: East Moline, Moline, Rock Island and UTHS.

Christian Friendliness: The Learning Center (CFTLC)

Program serves Washington Elementary students in grades 3-5 who are referred by the school to the program.

Boys and Girls Club of the Mississippi Valley: The Power Hour

The Power Hour program serves the K-12 reading level, and children ages 6 to 16.

Amigos Para Todos

Retired and senior volunteers who assist children and families with limited English speaking ability.

Reading for Understanding

Retired and senior volunteers assist children or adults who are learning to read at the elementary level.
